Detectives of the investigative police’s Modelo Territorial Cero team based in Molina carried out an operation in the commune of Rauco as part of investigative procedures to eradicate drug trafficking in the Maule region.[1] During that intervention officers detained an adult man and took 977.38 grams of bulk cannabis out of circulation, seizing two mobile phones as investigative evidence.[1] In Constitución the team captured a 52-year-old man, seizing 5.14 grams of bulk cannabis and seven cannabis plants in the growth stage.[1] In Linares in Maule Sur detectives detained a 41-year-old man and seized 5.44 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, plus cash and items commonly used to portion drugs.[1]

The Rauco seizure in Curicó province was part of a larger regional MT-0 deployment that included parallel actions in two other Maule communes.[1] The simultaneous actions in Constitución and Linares left a total of three people detained for alleged infringement of Law 20.000.[1]

On instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, all of the drugs seized in Rauco and the other communes were sent in full to the Maule Health Service for analysis.[1] The three detainees were placed at the disposal of the corresponding guarantee courts to face justice for drug-law infringement.[1]
