Federal drug-control officers, working with Moscow Oblast traffic police, detained two
residents of Moscow and the wider region suspected of preparing marijuana for sale.[1]
According to the Moscow Oblast Interior Ministry, about three months earlier they had rented
private houses in Kulaikovo and Sinkovo in Ramensky municipal district, bought cannabis seeds
through dark-web markets and fitted both homes with grow boxes, climate control, specialist
lighting and ventilation.[1][2]
Searches at both addresses recovered 192 plants that looked like cannabis, two cardboard boxes
of plant material later confirmed as about 1.5 kg of marijuana, scales, packing materials and a
vacuum sealer.[1] Investigators opened a case for attempted large-scale drug trafficking, and
Ramenskoye city court ordered both men held in custody.[1][2]
