South-Western Moscow district drug officers and federal drug-control staff stopped a 22-year-old Moscow Oblast man who police said was a student at a capital university and was involved in illegal drug trafficking.[1] Supported by SOBR Mangust, they detained him at his home on Sovkhoznaya Street in Khimki and found a bag of plant material in his clothing.[1][2]

A search of that flat recovered two more wraps, five plastic containers of similar material, scales, vacuum bags and seven bottles of fertiliser.[1] Police then searched a second flat he rented in a neighbouring building, where they found six containers, two bags, a container of chopped plant matter, 145 cannabis plants, growing equipment, scales and a vacuum packer.[1][2]

Laboratory tests identified the seized material as more than 700 grams of marijuana.[1][2] The Lomonosovsky district police investigative unit opened a case for attempted large-scale drug trafficking, and a court remanded the student in custody.[1]
