Chelyabinsk drug-control officers and federal colleagues broke up what police described as a
marijuana production line run by two Chelyabinsk men, born in 1981 and 1991.[1] With SOBR
Arkaim of the Chelyabinsk Rosgvardiya, they detained the pair at one of the garden cooperatives
(SNT) in Sosnovsky district, where the men had been growing cannabis and processing it in a
garden house.[1][2]
Inside the house officers seized about 10 kg of marijuana ready for sale, eight growing cannabis
plants, cultivation gear, packing materials, scales and roughly 600,000 rubles police said came
from the business.[1] In a car parked beside the plot they found another six kilograms of
marijuana packed in bags, bringing the total seizure to about 16 kg.[1][2]
Police said the men intended to distribute the drug around Chelyabinsk through an online shop and
a dead-drop system.[1] The regional MVD main investigative department opened a case for
attempted large-scale trafficking, and both were remanded in custody while inquiries continued.[1][2]
