The Qena Criminal Court sentenced a worker to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined him 100,000 Egyptian pounds for possessing hashish and a foreign-made automatic weapon with ammunition.[1] The same account is confirmed by Sada Elbalad, which reports the same 10-year sentence and 100,000-pound fine for possessing hashish and an automatic weapon in Qena.[2] The verdict was issued under counsellor Islam Mohamed Hamza, with counsellors Tamer al-Amir al-Taher and Ahmed Aboul-Qassem al-Sharif, prosecutor Mostafa Abdel-Samad and court secretaries Salah Farraj, Ahmed Abdel-Sattar Abdel-Hamid and Alaa Slouk present.[1]

The case dates to January 2026, when security forces arrested a worker accused of trading in drugs in Dandarah village in the Qena district.[1] Officers found the defendant in possession of hashish, methamphetamine, an automatic weapon and a shotgun cartridge from a foreign-made weapon.[1]

During the arrest, the defendant tried to assault the investigations officer.[1] The case was referred to the Qena felonies court and registered as No. 747 Kolli Qena, which imposed the 10-year sentence and fine for drug possession.[1]
