The Giza Criminal Court on Monday heard the trial of four defendants in case No. 19560 of 2025 for Badrashin felonies on charges of drug trafficking and unlicensed possession of weapons and ammunition.[1] Prosecutors say the four were seized on 10 December 2025 in the Badrashin district.[1]
Officers found about 15 kilograms of hashish divided into four exhibits: 70 pieces weighing 7 kilograms, 30 pieces weighing 3 kilograms, and two further exhibits weighing 2.3 and 2.7 kilograms.[1] Alongside the hashish, officers found a quantity of a narcotic phenethylamine derivative and a sensitive digital scale.[1] The fourth defendant allegedly held two 12-gauge shotgun firearms and ammunition, while the first defendant allegedly held a shotgun and three cartridges.[1] The prosecution also attributes to the second defendant possession of the same weapon and ammunition held by the first defendant.[1]
Three General Administration for Drug Control officers said they arrested the defendants under prosecution permission with the drugs and firearms, stating the drugs were meant for trafficking and the weapons for protecting that activity.[1] Forensic reports confirmed the seized weapons were functional, and laboratory examination found hashish essence and phenethylamine derivatives listed in Schedule 1 of the drug-control law.[1] Prosecutors charged the defendants with trafficking in hashish essence and phenethylamine derivatives and with drug use, plus possession of unrifled firearms and ammunition without a licence.[1]
