The Guardia Civil is investigating a married couple from Ponteareas, in Pontevedra, aged 69 and 56, over suspected retail drug sales, treated as an offence against public health.[1][2] The couple are neighbours of the town, and the force described them as suspected authors of that offence.[3] The work was aimed at street dealing in the town centre and at the alarm that trade was said to cause.[3] On 27 October 2026, officers on surveillance identified the pair because there were signs they were involved in drug trafficking.[3]

A search of their belongings found several individual doses of cocaine and heroin and a small amount of hashish, cannabis resin, which officers said appeared prepared for sale to consumers.[4][2] They also seized about 615 euros in cash, in notes of different values.[3] The Guardia Civil said that money might have come from selling drugs.[1][2]

Both were placed under investigation for an offence against public health, the drugs and the cash were seized, and the file was sent to the duty civil and investigative section of the Tribunal de Instancia in Ponteareas.[1][2]
