The Civil and Instruction Section of the Plasencia court ordered prison on Sunday for the alleged perpetrator of the killing of a 22-year-old man in the early hours of Friday.[1][2] The main detainee is a 19-year-old Plasencia native arrested at his home shortly after the events, while a 26-year-old second man was released provisionally with charges after both appeared before the court.[1] The court imposed pretrial detention without bail on the main suspect and release with charges for the second man.[3]

During the operation officers seized two suitcases containing 16 kilograms of hashish in tablets and 2 kilograms of marijuana.[1][2] Police say the 26-year-old had allegedly tried to help the suspect evade justice and to hide an important quantity of drugs from the flat where the suspect lived in order to leave the city.[4] Officers also seized two simulated firearms and 17 bladed weapons of different types during the home intervention.[1] Officers also reported 5 grams of cocaine and a vehicle, which are excluded from the cannabis total above.[3] Police later recovered a machete that the examined evidence suggests could have been the weapon used in the killing.[3]

The stabbing happened at about 02:00 on Friday at the junction of Talavera and Encarnación streets in Plasencia.[1][2] Police and then medical services assisted the victim and took him to Virgen del Puerto hospital, where his death was confirmed at about 06:00.[1] After witness statements, police went to a dwelling near the scene and intercepted the two men, aged 19 and 26, as they tried to flee.[3]
