Polda Lampung, Lampung’s regional police, uncovered five narcotics cases during October 2026.[1] Police detained 10 suspects in the operation.[1] Provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Yustan Alpiani presented the cases at a press conference in South Lampung on 4 November 2026.[1]

The cannabis component recorded here was 33.1 kilograms of ganja.[1] The same seizure also included 61.9 kilograms of sabu, 19,696 ecstasy pills and 2,143 etomidate pills, which are not counted as cannabis.[1] Police put the total economic value of all the seized narcotics at Rp125 billion.[1] Police estimated the seized narcotics could save about 429,683 people from drug abuse.[1] Yustan called narcotics crime an extraordinary crime because of its harm to health, lives and the future of the community, especially the younger generation.[1]

Police said the cases revealed an inter-provincial distribution network using Lampung as a delivery route.[1] One network sent narcotics from Medan, North Sumatra, to Bandung, West Java, via the Bakauheni crossing in South Lampung.[1] Police described Bakauheni as the main Sumatra-Java transport link under watch for drug trafficking.[1] Police said traffickers exploit high inter-island vehicle and passenger movement to smuggle contraband.[1]
