State Police patrol officers in Pavia stopped two young people after a chase and reported them at liberty for joint possession of drugs.[1] Officers on territorial patrol had spotted three suspects near Piazza Salvo D’Acquisto, who fled toward the porticoes of Via Zanella when they saw the patrol.[1] Officers caught and identified two of them after the chase.[2] Checks showed that one of the two had breached the residence-order precautionary measure imposed on him.[2]
During the chase, the two allegedly threw a smartphone and a cellophane wrap containing a brown, malleable substance later confirmed as hashish onto the grass of a residential complex.[1] A later search of the check area recovered a second wrap containing drugs.[1] Analyses confirmed the material was hashish totalling about 20 grams in two pieces.[1] The drugs and recovered objects were seized.[1]
Police describe the Piazza Salvo D’Acquisto area as already known for drug-dealing episodes.[1] The two were taken to police headquarters for identification and personal searches.[1] Police say checks are continuing across the area with particular attention to places considered sensitive for preventing drug dealing.[1]
