The Poggioreale Carabinieri company carried out high-impact checks in the Naples districts of Poggioreale, San Giovanni a Teduccio and Barra.[1][2][3] The operation uncovered electricity theft, drugs and businesses operating without the required authorisations.[1][3] Officers found a drug store inside cellar rooms in the Taverna del Ferro housing complex at San Giovanni a Teduccio.[1][2][4]

Officers seized 40 blocks of hashish with a total weight of about four kilos.[1][2][4] Officers also seized 20 doses already packaged for sale.[1][2][4]

With technicians from E-Distribuzione, officers found ten illegal connections used to draw power without regular metering, and five people were reported for electricity theft.[1] In Barra, officers inspected a funeral business on corso Bruno Buozzi that was providing funeral services while licensed only to sell flowers and plants, fining the holder 11,200 euros and ordering the unauthorised activity to stop.[1] Overall, officers identified 132 people and checked 80 vehicles.[1][2] They issued 22 road-traffic penalties, seized eight vehicles and referred seven people to the Prefecture for substance use without specifying the substance.[1]

The 20 already-packaged doses weighed a further 50 grams.[2] Of the 132 people identified, 57 had prior police records.[2]
