Carabinieri from the Floridia station reported an 18-year-old at liberty for alleged possession of drugs with intent to deal.[1] The operation was part of territorial checks aimed at countering drug dealing and use, particularly among younger people.[1] The searches followed an observation activity that led officers to carry out personal searches and then searches inside the youth’s home.[1]

In the suspect’s bedroom, hidden inside a cabinet, officers found and seized a hashish block weighing about 80 grams, together with other already-packaged doses of the same substance described as apparently ready for the local market.[1] Officers then extended the inspection to the building’s external areas and found one Indian hemp plant in an advanced vegetative state growing in the house courtyard.[2]

All of the seized drugs were held for subsequent laboratory analysis.[1] The youth was referred to the judicial authority while remaining free, with no arrest reported.[2]
