Panvel taluka police arrested Subhash Dattu Mali with ganja while he was staying in Panvel taluka despite an externment order against him.[1] Police said Mali had previously been externed for one year from Thane city, Mumbai, Brihanmumbai, Navi Mumbai, Raigad and Palghar areas.[1] Despite that order, he was still living in Panvel taluka at the time of the arrest.[1]

The operation took place in the Haji Malang Road area of Bavanje village.[1] Police said they acted after receiving information about suspicious movements in the Haji Malang Road area of Bavanje.[1] A search found ganja and related paraphernalia in the accused’s possession.[1] Officers seized 623 grams of ganja, three chillims and one matchbox from him.[1] Police put the total value of the seized property at Rs 32,150.[1]

During questioning, the accused told police that he had brought the seized ganja from a man named Narayan in Odisha.[1] The arrest therefore combines an alleged drug seizure with an alleged violation of the externment order by remaining in Panvel taluka.[1]
