Dasai police, acting under the anti-narcotics drive Operation Prahar, raided a field in Nihalpur village (Hanumantya Padampura) in Dhar district.[1] Officers seized 75 small and large green ganja plants from the field.[1] Police arrested 40-year-old Rajaram, also named as Raju and Radhu, son of Champalal Ninama of Nihalpur, at the spot.[1]

The cannabis had been grown hidden among chilli, pigeon-pea and sugarcane crops.[1] Police put the estimated value of the seized plants at about Rs 400,000.[1] Dasai post in-charge Dinesh Singh Yadav said police received a tip on 30 October that Nihalpur resident Rajaram alias Raju had grown ganja illegally in his field and informed senior officers.[1]

The raid team was formed under the direction of Dhar SP Sachin Sharma and the guidance of ASP Parul Belapurkar, SDOP Vishwadeep Singh Parihar and Amjhera station in-charge Raju Makwana.[1] Police registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and said further legal proceedings were under way.[1]
