National Police dismantled three round-the-clock drug sales points in the Soledat neighbourhood of Palma on Wednesday 28 October and arrested four people as suspected drug traffickers.[1][2] Those arrested were three men and a woman.[3] A judge ordered the three premises sealed, because they were used to sell drugs and not as homes, and sent one of the arrested into pre-trial detention.[1] The operation was concentrated around Manacor and Teix streets.[4]
Officers searched four properties: the three sales points and a linked home.[1] In several they found armoured doors with reinforced locks and cameras linked to screens watching the street for police.[1] Opening the entrances required the Prevention and Reaction Unit and the Technical Intervention Group.[1] During the entry, two men were said to have thrown drugs down drains installed to get rid of the substances quickly.[1] One of them also had a blowtorch and accelerants allegedly meant to burn evidence.[1] The drains emptied into a shared cistern, which underground officers entered.[1] There they recovered almost 200 grams of cocaine, about 100 grams of another substance still to be identified, cash and material linked to drug sales.[1] The searches as a whole also turned up hashish, scales and other tools.[1]
Ultima Hora, citing investigation sources, also reported marijuana prepared for distribution, and said the premises and those arrested were allegedly linked to the clan of El Pablo.[4] Investigators attributed street lookout work to another man and a woman, who were to warn the sellers if police arrived.[1] They were not found during the first entry and were arrested late on the same Wednesday afternoon.[1] Officers of the provincial citizen-security brigade located and arrested them.[3] On the morning of that Wednesday, before the later arrests, police had detained two people and reported four sales points dismantled in La Soledad, in an operation sources linked to the clan of El Pablo, and had seized various amounts of hashish and marijuana.[5]
