The Federal Highway Police and the Civil Police of the Federal District seized about 3.5 tonnes of skunk from a truck on the BR-153 at Morrinhos, in southern Goiás, on the afternoon of Thursday 29 October 2026.[1] The bales of skunk were hidden behind wooden pallets and were found by sniffer dogs.[2] The driver was arrested.[1]

The stop followed an exchange of information between the highway police and Civil Police officers in the Federal District.[2] When approached, the driver could not explain where he had come from or where he was going, and stayed silent.[2] After the pallets were unloaded, officers found the skunk in the cargo compartment.[1]

He was taken to the Civil Police with the seized drug.[1] At the Civil Police station in Brasília, he was booked on a charge of interstate drug trafficking.[2] The PRF did not name him and released only his age, 40.[2]

The load was valued at R$3.5 million and, according to the investigation, was to be sold in the Federal District.[2] Skunk, known in Brazil as ‘super maconha’ (super marijuana), is a cannabis product.[2]
