Two men aged 18 and 21 were arrested and a 15-year-old was apprehended at Campo Grande’s bus terminal in the early hours of 29 October 2026, the city’s Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) said.[1] Guards patrolling the boarding area around 1:50 am noticed that one passenger was nervous and smelled cannabis.[1] With the passengers’ permission they searched the suitcases and found tablets of a substance that looked like cannabis.[1] The two passengers said they were travelling together and carrying drugs, and named a third person, who was found shortly afterwards.[1] All three told guards they had collected the drug in Ponta Porã, a town on the border with Paraguay, and were taking it to Curitiba.[2]

Denar, the specialised anti-drug trafficking police station, confirmed that the three suitcases held 91.9 kg of cannabis, divided into 262 portions.[1] One suitcase weighed 30.4 kg, the second 27.3 kg and the third 34.2 kg.[2] The three and the drug were taken to the Depac Cepol police station in Campo Grande.[1] The case was registered as drug trafficking with suspected interstate transport and remains under investigation by the Civil Police.[1]
