State Police officers from the Milazzo commissariat arrested a 38-year-old man in flagrante during extraordinary territorial checks.[1] The 38-year-old was placed in pre-trial custody in prison on the order of the judicial authority.[1] At the prosecutor’s request, the investigating judge of the Barcellona court validated the arrest and ordered continued pretrial detention in prison.[1] In the same checks officers also took a 45-year-old man into custody who was subject to a final imprisonment order for earlier crimes against the person and property.[1]
Officers first stopped the younger man on streets in Milazzo town centre holding doses already packaged for retail sale in the Milazzo area.[1] A later search of a garage available to him recovered further drugs believed intended for sale.[1] With the drugs officers found cutting and packaging material for single doses and several precision scales.[1] Police listed 140 grams of cannabinoids among the drugs held by the 38-year-old.[1] Officers found the 45-year-old with about 15 grams of cannabinoids already divided into single doses.[1] The same haul included 152 grams of cocaine and 4 grams of synthetic drugs, which are not counted in the cannabis figure.[2]
The 45-year-old was reported to the judicial authority for unlawful possession of his doses.[2] Police described the operation as part of intensified territorial control activity in Milazzo.[1]
