Officers of the Flying Squad of the Lamezia Terme police station arrested three people in via Isonzo, Lamezia Terme, on the afternoon of 31 October 2026 after a chase and follow-up home searches.[1] Police held the three responsible on various grounds.[1] A police-union account described those arrested as several non-EU citizens and the site as a street dealing spot dismantled by the operation.[1]

Officers seized more than 1.3 kilograms of drugs made up of hashish, cocaine and marijuana, together with a precision scale and 5,625 euros in cash.[1] The published accounts give only the combined weight for all three substances and no separate weight for the hashish and marijuana.[2]

The FSP Polizia, COISP and SAP police unions publicly praised the Flying Squad officers, crediting territorial control, patrol presence and investigative work.[1] Union representatives framed the seizure as drugs kept off local streets and as protection for young people and families, while also calling for more staffing, equipment and funding for the police.[1]
