Military police arrested 19-year-old Edney da Silva Lima, known as Menino Ney,
in flagrante delicto at about 22:30 on Tuesday 3 November 2026 on Rua Treze in
Comunidade Mundo Novo, Cidade Nova, in the North Zone of Manaus.[1]The arrest
for drug trafficking was made by a tactical ostensive patrol team of the Rondas
Ostensivas Cândido Mariano, known as Rocam.[1]
When officers arrived, Menino Ney tried to flee by jumping over the property
wall, but the area was already surrounded and officers arrested him in
flagrante.[1]Inside the house where he allegedly kept a drug-selling point,
officers found several portions of drugs including skunk marijuana and oxi
stones, along with cash and a precision scale.[1]
Rocam officers said they had received complaints in previous days that a boca de
fumo, a street-level drug-selling point, was operating almost every night on
that street.[1]The detained young man told police that his father, whose name
was not disclosed, had also recently been arrested in the same community for
drug trafficking.[1]He was then presented at the 6th DIP, the district police
station, for the applicable legal procedures.[1]
