Officers of the Tático Ostensivo Rodoviário (TOR), the Military Police highway patrol unit, arrested a 25-year-old app driver in flagrante in the early hours of 4 November 2026 at km 89 of the Rodovia Antônio Machado Sant’Anna (SP-255) in Araraquara.[1] The patrol stopped his grey Fiat Mobi after seeing it speeding and driving against traffic on the highway.[1] During the inspection officers found the drug tablets hidden in the luggage compartment.[1]
The seizure totalled 19 tablets weighing 25.69 kg of maconha, kept in the trunk of the grey Fiat Mobi.[1] The precise published weight was 25.69 kg in the trunk of a Fiat Mobi on the SP-255 in Araraquara.[1] The driver told police he had loaded the maconha in Ribeirão Preto and was taking it to Jaú for delivery.[1] He said he had been promised R$3,000 for carrying the load to its destination.[1]
He was taken to the Araraquara police station, where the case was registered as drug trafficking.[1] After routine procedures he was transferred to the Santa Ernestina public jail to remain at the disposal of justice, with a custody hearing due later that day.[1] Police also seized the Fiat Mobi used for transport and a mobile phone found with the driver to help reconstruct the route and identify other possible participants.[1] The Delegacia de Investigações Sobre Entorpecentes (DISE), the drug-investigations unit, took over the case to investigate the origin of the drug and its intended destination in Jaú.[1]
