Police stopped warehouse worker Manjinder Sadhra, 38, on the night of 5 August 2026 because the car had no MOT.[1] They found a cannabis grinder on the passenger seat and could smell cannabis.[1] He failed a roadside drug test and was arrested, and a search of the Vauxhall Corsa found a quantity of cannabis.[1]

He had pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of cannabis and possessing cannabis.[1] Defending himself, he said: “I was in the wrong.”[1] He called it “just one silly mistake” and told the court he worked in a warehouse and cared for his elderly father, with whom he lived in Fernhurst Road, Braunstone Town.[1]

He was fined £323 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £129 victim surcharge.[1] The court also banned him from driving for 12 months.[1]
