Concerns about Wright’s behaviour led to his arrest for possession of a Class B drug.[1] Lynn Magistrate’s Court heard how police were made aware of Samuel Wright’s behaviour on the evening of 4 October in Lynn town centre.[1] CCTV showed the 46-year-old on Littleport Street, where officers arrested and searched him.[1] A bag containing 16g of cannabis was found in Wright’s pocket.[1]

At the Lynn court on Thursday, Wright, of Station Road in Heacham, admitted having a Class B drug in his possession.[1] Wright worked as a grounds worker, and duty solicitor George Sorrell said he had not committed an offence in the past five years.[1] Sorrell said Wright had no drug problem and had entered an early guilty plea.[1] Sorrell made these points in mitigation.[1]

Wright was fined £720 and ordered to pay a £288 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.[1] Together, the fine, victim surcharge and court costs amounted to £1,093 overall.[1]
