Police officers recovered approximately 2,900 rolls of cannabis after intercepting a suspected narcotics trafficker during a patrol in the Highridge area of Nairobi County.[1][2]

According to a National Police Service statement issued on 23 September 2026, officers saw a man riding a motorcycle while carrying a brown sack and pursued him along Korogocho Road toward the Dandora Dumpsite.[1][2] Realising he was followed, the suspect abandoned the sack and accelerated toward the dumpsite, evading arrest.[1][2]

The sack was found to contain about 2,900 rolls of cannabis, commonly known as bhang.[1][2] The exhibit was secured in safe custody for further investigation, and efforts to trace and apprehend the suspect continue.[1]
