At Buruburu Police Station, a 26-year-old woman visiting her detained boyfriend asked desk officers to pass him a loaf of bread; the unsealed package aroused suspicion and a search found five rolls of bhang and a matchbox buried deep in the loaf.[1] A further jacket search recovered seven more rolls, for 12 in all, secured as exhibits pending arraignment.[1][2]
In Thika West, a motorcycle rider and his female pillion passenger met a police roadblock at Kairi and fled; the chase ended near Ree Supermarket when the rider lost control at a speed bump.[1] The passenger melted into the crowd while rider John Mwangi alias Bombay was held; a search recovered 300 rolls plus 3 kg wrapped in yellow polythene strapped to the seat, and he was taken to Kimuchu Police Station pending arraignment.[1][2]
