2 years suspended with 2-year probation
The Kerch city court found a local man guilty of illegal storage of narcotics
and maintenance of a drug den.[1]The court imposed two years of imprisonment,
suspended, with a two-year probation period.[2]The verdict had not yet
entered into legal force when the decisions were reported.[2]
In March 2026 the man bought cannabis seeds from an unknown person at the
Central market in Kerch.[1]He planted the seeds in a flowerpot in order to
grow a narcotic-containing plant.[2]Police stopped his criminal activity
during operative-search measures.[1]He also provided his home and a special
device for drug use to three local residents.[2]
Authorities qualified his actions under Part 1 of Article 228 for illegal
storage of narcotics and Part 1 of Article 232 for maintaining a den.[1]The
case was reported by the prosecutor’s office of Crimea, and Russian law
prohibits organising or maintaining a drug den and systematically providing
premises for drug use under Article 232.[2]
No separate sentencing date was published; 3 November 2026 is the publication date of the MK report and 4 November 2026 is that of the Primechaniya report.
No number of plants, drug weight, area or value was published for the flowerpot cultivation, so no cannabis quantity can be recorded.
The substances consumed by the three visitors using the den were described only as narcotics, so only the cannabis-seed cultivation is recorded as the cannabis component.
The published reports give no name, age or detention status for the sentenced man beyond being a local Kerch resident, and no outcomes for the three visitors.
The Primechaniya page carries two images credited to the Crimean prosecutor without captions establishing what they show, so no media entry is included.
The MK article recalls separate February and May 2026 Kerch drug cases that are different events left out here.
Only two accessible sources were found, both restating the prosecutor and police account.
