Police detained two suspects during a drone-assisted operation in Rasimpaşa
neighbourhood, in Kadıköy district of Istanbul, on 30 October 2026.[1] The
Kadıköy District Police Department’s Patrol Teams Command was on patrol there as
part of an effort to prevent narcotics trafficking when officers noticed one
person’s suspicious behavior.[2] Officers followed the car with drone support,
tracking it from the air and on the ground.[2] Police caught D.Y., 25, as he
left the vehicle, and M.E.E., 26, who was driving.[2] Searches of both
suspects and the car found 15 pieces containing 51 grams (0.051 kg) of marihuana
and 3,000 Turkish lira in cash.[2]
The pieces were assessed as having been packaged for sale.[2] Police opened
judicial proceedings against D.Y. under the offense of using narcotic or
stimulant substances.[1] M.E.E. was due to be sent to judicial authorities on
31 October on an allegation of drug trafficking.[1]
