The workshop owner outside whose premises the van was parked was taken to give a statement and was then booked for drug trafficking.[1] The driver said to have delivered the van to the workshop had not been found when the reports were last updated.[2]

The van was parked in front of a mechanical workshop with one of its windows broken.[2] The shop owner said the van had been left at the site on Thursday 29 October by a service provider for repairs.[2] Brandão said in a note that the vehicle had been left at the workshop on that Thursday by a service provider and that he had not known about the drugs found inside.[1] Brandão said he had been surprised that the vehicle was allegedly used for unlawful activity without his knowledge or consent.[1]

Brandão gave a statement about the case on the same Sunday at the Central de Flagrantes.[1] He said he trusted a rigorous investigation of the facts and was in absolute tranquillity.[2] The Paraíba Civil Police are investigating the seizure in the Cuiá case.[2]
