The Guardia Civil dismantled a marijuana plantation inside a building in the town of Huévar del Aljarafe, in Seville province.[1][2][3][4][5] Officers detained the people described as responsible for the crop.[1][2][3][4][5] The plantation was indoors, in a nave — an industrial unit or warehouse — in Guadial, an urbanización, or planned development, within the municipality.[6] The operation took place on Tuesday 27 October 2026.[6][2][5] The Guardia Civil officers travelled to the town from Pilas.[7][2][4][5]

The deputy mayor, Manuel Ruiz, and the councillor for Guadial, Isabel María Romero, attended the operation.[1][2][4][5] Ruiz said such operations showed “la importancia de contar con cuerpos y fuerzas de seguridad del Estado”, the importance of having state security forces.[1] He said the officers had told him that “aunque Huévar no tenga cuartel, la Guardia Civil está pendiente del pueblo y pendiente de la llamada de cualquier persona que lo necesite” — that although Huévar has no barracks, the Guardia Civil keeps watch on the town and answers anyone who calls.[1]

The town hall publicly thanked the Guardia Civil for the operation.[6][2][3][4][5]

The town hall said it hoped the operation would keep Guadial residents from again living alongside drug-trafficking activity.[4]
