Military Police arrested a man on the evening of Monday 2 November 2026 in São
Raimundo, Governador Valadares, on suspicion of drug trafficking.[1]Officers
seized two tablets of maconha, the Portuguese word for cannabis, weighing about
500 grams from a bag he tried to discard during the stop.[1]The operation was
carried out by the POP (Patrulha de Operações), the Military Police
operations-patrol team, of the 175th Company.[1]While patrolling Rua Granada
near a state school, the team noticed a motorcyclist who looked nervous as the
patrol cars approached.[1]
He braked sharply, threw the bag away, fell from the motorcycle and then tried
to flee on foot before officers caught him.[1]Inside the bag officers found
two cannabis tablets totalling about 500 grams, and they also seized R$54 in
cash and a mobile phone.[1]Police said the stop on Rua Granada took place
less than 200 metres from a municipal school.[1]
After the fall the suspect received medical care at the Regional Hospital and
was then taken to the police station, where he remained at the disposal of
justice.[1]The motorcycle he had been riding was also seized and removed to
an accredited impound lot.[1]
Only one accessible source for this event was found after searching in Portuguese.
