Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office coordinated a week of narcotics operations carried out citywide by the provincial police’s anti-narcotics branch from 26 October to 1 November 2026.[1] Officers raided designated addresses and carried out searches as part of the anti-drug effort.[1] Legal proceedings were initiated against a total of 171 suspects as a result of the week’s operations.[1] The operations were aimed at preventing drug trafficking and use in Gaziantep.[1]

The searches yielded 641 grams of esrar, the cannabis preparation known in Turkey, alongside 3 kilograms 204 grams of methamphetamine, 218 grams of synthetic cannabinoid and 4 grams of cocaine.[1] Officers also seized 148 drug pills and 3 precision scales believed to have been used in drug dealing.[1] The seized methamphetamine was the largest amount among the drugs recovered.[1]

The weekly results were published as a single tally for the coordinated operations.[1] Police said anti-drug operations remain a priority in Gaziantep and that efforts to combat trafficking and use are continuing.[1]
