In a joint late-evening operation on Tuesday September 22, the National Judicial Police Brigade intercepted a huge drug cargo bound for international trafficking: 4,631 kg of cannabis resin (chira) were seized and one person arrested on the outskirts of El Jadida.[1][2]

The BNPJ acted on extremely precise intelligence from the DGST, in field coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie, locating a utility vehicle in a rural area under El Jadida carrying 118 bales of chira ready for international dispatch.[1][2] As the main suspect tried to flee during the intervention, forces deployed surveillance drones for aerial combing backed by canine brigades on the ground, quickly tracking and arresting the fugitive.[1]

The suspect was placed in custody pending the judicial inquiry under the competent prosecutor’s supervision; investigations continue to map the network’s national and international ramifications and arrest all accomplices.[1][2]
