Early on Saturday 10 October 2026, the Fès regional judicial police with the domestic surveillance directorate (DGST) foiled an international drug-trafficking attempt, seizing 4 tonnes and 100 kilogrammes of chira (cannabis resin) on a farm in a rural area near Fès.[1] Officers found the drugs alongside a truck loaded with hashish, four marine engines and four inflatable boats suspected of serving cross-border runs.[1]
Three suspected members of the network were arrested, including the main suspect, a woman already subject to a national wanted notice for a similar drug-trafficking case.[1] They were placed under judicial investigation supervised by the competent prosecutor to map the network’s other ramifications.[1]
