Port police at Tanger Med, working with customs, thwarted an international drug trafficking attempt in the early hours of Sunday 11 October, seizing more than three and a half tonnes of cannabis resin.[1][2]

Border control of a Moroccan-registered international freight truck uncovered the drugs hidden inside crates of agricultural produce, carefully packed to facilitate the trafficking.[1][2]

The truck driver, a 35-year-old Moroccan national, was placed under the judicial investigation supervised by the competent prosecutor to clarify the case and dismantle any national or international ramifications of the network.[1][2] The operation was part of sustained border-post efforts against international drug trafficking networks.[1]
