In Efeler, a district of Aydın, police conducted an operation aimed at preventing and monitoring drug trafficking and tracking suspects.[1] During the operation officers detained two suspects, identified only by the initials E.T. and B.B., and took them into custody for investigation.[1] Both detainees were processed for drug trafficking and, after completion of judicial procedures, were remanded and transferred to prison.[1]

Searches conducted as part of the same Efeler operation recovered 1,401 synthetic ecza tablets together with 0.50 grams of bonzai and 3.10 grams of esrar, the cannabis recorded here.[1] Officers also seized 11,800 Turkish lira in cash that police described as money suspected to be proceeds of the offence.[2]

The operation was carried out by teams of the Narcotics Crimes Combat Branch Directorate, the specialist anti-narcotics police in Aydın.[2] The two suspects were both transferred to prison to serve the court-ordered remand known as tutuklama.[2]
