Antalya anti-narcotics police detained a suspect identified only as Y.K. during an operation in Muratpaşa district.[1][2] Police said Y.K. had brought narcotic and stimulant substances into Antalya in order to sell and distribute them.[1] He was referred to the judicial authorities on suspicion of trading and supplying drugs.[3] He was then remanded in custody.[4][2]

Officers searching his residence seized 25 kilograms of cannabis, called esrar in the Turkish reports.[1][2] The cannabis was divided into 50 separate plastic bags.[1][2] Police said the bags were hidden inside a suitcase and under a bed base.[4] No other suspect was reported as detained in the operation.[1]

The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Crime Branch of the Antalya Police Department.[1] Police described it as part of efforts to dry up the source of drugs and to prevent their trade and use.[1] The suspect was caught after police identified him through information about drugs being brought into the city.[3] Police identified the suspect only by the initials Y.K.[1]
