Police in Alaşehir district in Manisa province carried out an operation aimed at preventing the sale and use of narcotic substances.[1] The work was conducted by teams of the Alaşehir office of the narcotics crime-combating branch.[1] As part of the operation, officers searched two separate addresses linked to Y.S., who is reported as 34 years old.[1][2] Y.S. was detained during the operation and, after procedures at the police station, was referred to the courthouse, where the court ordered remand in custody.[1][3][2][4]

Searches at the two addresses recovered 2.86 grams of cannabis, which the report calls esrar, the Turkish term for cannabis.[1][5][2] The same searches also recovered 113.68 grams of methamphetamine and 299 synthetic pills described as sentetik ecza.[1][6][4] The methamphetamine and synthetic pills are non-cannabis substances in this mixed seizure and are excluded from the cannabis seizure figure.[1] The cannabis component therefore stands separately supported at only 2.86 grams, while the wider case remains a predominantly methamphetamine seizure.[1]
