Police in Gaya district, Bihar, arrested two men after stopping a car at the Bahera police station gate on the Dobhi–Chatra road early on 30 October 2026.[1] The driver was Dhananjay Sharma, a resident of Khandwa village in the Dinara police station area of Rohtas district.[1] The co-driver was Vinod Kumar, a resident of Rirudih village in the Harla police station area of Bokaro district, Jharkhand.[2]

A search found 16.06 kg of ganja (cannabis) in 44 packets hidden inside the door panels of all four doors.[1] Police seized the car and other evidence.[2] The seizure list for the ganja was prepared in the presence of the local revenue officer for Dobhi.[1] Both men were sent to judicial custody.[1]

Ravi Ranjan Kumar, the officer in charge of Bahera police station, said police had a tip-off that ganja was being smuggled by car from Jharkhand along the Dobhi–Chatra road.[1] Officers then began checking vehicles at the station gate.[1] The arrested men told police the load came from Jharsuguda in Odisha and was bound for Sasaram in Bihar.[1] Officials said they were working to identify other people in the smuggling network.[2] Police said vehicle checks would continue on the roads to stop illegal drug supply.[2]
