The Mumbai Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Cell seized 3.563 kg of hydro ganja worth about Rs 1.24 crore in the Dongri area on 28 October 2026.[1] Two men were spotted behaving suspiciously near Umar Khadi Cross Lane, allegedly carrying two blue plastic bags, and a police team intercepted and searched them.[1]
The search recovered 1.823 kg from the first accused and 1.740 kg from the second.[1] Police put the market value of the haul at Rs 1,24,70,500.[1]
The Azad Maidan unit registered a case against both men under Sections 8(c), 20(b) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and arrested them.[1] The operation ran under the guidance of senior Mumbai Police officers, including Police Commissioner Deven Bharti.[1] Police said the crackdown on the city’s drug trade would continue.[1]
