Gendarmes stopped a 23-year-old Manosque man at Les Mées on 24 September 2026 and found he had driven after using drugs; it was his fourth such control, after a conviction on 6 October 2025.[1][2] At immediate trial on 12 October the judicial court in Digne-les-Bains heard him say he had relapsed two days earlier when a friend offered cannabis.[1][2]

The substitute prosecutor told him it was his fourth positive test within a year of his last conviction.[1][2] Police found 2 grams of cannabis at his home.[1][2] His lawyer pointed to his job as a head waiter in a local restaurant and argued he was a social user, not a dealer.[2]

The court sentenced him to six months in prison plus two months from a revoked suspended term, to be served under electronic monitoring, and cancelled his driving licence.[1][2] The prosecution had sought six months under a tag, revocation of the suspended term, licence cancellation and vehicle forfeiture.[2]
