Special agents from SENAD, Paraguay’s anti-drug secretariat, searched the home of Simón Florentín Franco in the barrio San José Olero, Concepción, on Wednesday 28 October at about 16:00.[1][2][3] Prosecutor Arnaldo Argüello of the specialised anti-drug unit led the warrant with regional agents and SENAD special forces.[1][3]
Investigators said Franco, 69, had been selling marijuana to young people in the riverside neighbourhood, including minors who work in local yerba mate processing yards.[2][3] Officers found 254 grams of marijuana in 17 individually wrapped portions hidden in a boot bag inscribed “Carlitos 10 años”.[1][3]
Concepción al Día said Franco had 2007 convictions for sexual coercion and related bans.[1] La Tribuna and Moopio described the same weight and arrest; Moopio quoted regional chief Lilian Solís saying the raid followed complaints about sales to minors.[3] SENAD said it would keep monitoring the barrio for other micro-trafficking points.[2]
Franco was left in custody of the competent authorities; none of the reports opened gave a charge or court date.[1][2][3]
