The Guardia Civil arrested the driver of a high-end car that was carrying 800 kg of hashish on the A-49 in Huelva province after he tried to flee a police check.[1] The driver ignored their signals and drove through several levels of the checkpoint before officers stopped the car.[1] Inside, officers found the hashish packed in 20 large bales.[2]

He was accused of drug trafficking, document forgery over the car’s number plates, and assaulting an agent of the authority.[1] The case file, the car and the hashish were handed to the competent court.[1] The Guardia Civil said reinforcements at its Huelva command have intensified surveillance and checks against drug trafficking in the province.[3] The A-49 connects Seville with Portugal and is one of the main roads in Huelva province.[3]
