A federal judge sentenced José “N” and Pedro “N” to seven years in prison for firearm possession and drug transport after the Federal Public Ministry proved the charges.[1] The two men are serving the sentence in La Pila prison.[1] The district judge in the federal criminal justice centre in San Luis Potosí imposed seven years in prison and a fine of 50 Units of Measurement and Update, equivalent to 5,187 pesos.[1]

Officers searching the men’s vehicle found the firearm and 17 live cartridges, plus various doses of marijuana and crystal methamphetamine.[1] Prosecutors treated the case as possession of an exclusive-use Army firearm and possession of drugs for transport.[1] The marijuana doses are the cannabis component recorded here, while the crystal, firearm and cartridges are noted only to explain the mixed case.[1]

Guardia Civil Estatal officers detained the men in March 2023 after spotting their vehicle on the free road to Cerritos at Los Quiotes in Cerritos municipality.[1] The co-pilot aimed a squad-type pistol at the patrol vehicle, then both men left the vehicle and fled into brush before being captured.[1]
