A Nozha misdemeanour-court judge renewed the pretrial detention of a foreign national for 15 days pending investigation.[1] The case involves six bottles of hashish oil allegedly hidden in a shampoo-bottle parcel arriving from the United States at the cargo village of Cairo International Airport.[1]

The General Administration of Parcel Customs and the Egyptian Post customs intercepted the United States-origin parcel in cooperation with the competent security authorities at Cairo International Airport and the cargo village.[1] The inspected parcel weighed 6 kilograms in total and contained six containers described as hair- and hand-care products.[1] Airport anti-narcotics officers examined the parcel and identified the seized material as cannabis oil, which customs valued at about 12 million Egyptian pounds.[1] A second account likewise describes a United States-origin postal parcel of hair- and hand-care products suspected of containing schedule-listed cannabis oil with an indicated value of about 12 million Egyptian pounds.[2]

Officers preserved the parcel, drew up customs report No. 5 of 2026, and sealed it with customs wire and lead for referral to the central administration and the competent authorities for legal procedures.[1] The earlier account said the exact nature of the material still required completion of technical and legal procedures.[2]
