The Al-Nozha prosecution, headed by counsellor Moataz Zakaria, ordered a foreign national held for four days while it investigated a postal parcel of cannabis oil at the cargo village of Cairo International Airport.[1] Youm7 said he was found with six bottles of the oil hidden in a parcel of shampoo bottles sent from the United States.[1]

The General Administration of Postal Parcel Customs, under Ahmed Ismail Goweily, and Egyptian Post Customs, under Medhat Allam, stopped the shipment with airport anti-drug officers.[1] Tariff officer Badour Hamdy Abdel Aziz suspected a parcel from the United States declared as hair- and hand-care products, weighing 6 kilograms and holding six containers.[1] Allam sent it to the airport branch of the anti-drug administration, which said the contents were cannabis oil and valued them at about 12 million Egyptian pounds.[1]

Customs drew up seizure report number 5 of 2026, sealed the parcel with customs wire and lead, and held it for the air import and export customs directorate.[1] Mwatana published the same customs account of the six containers, the 6 kilogram weight, the oil finding and the 12 million pound estimate, without the detention order.[2]
