Under anti-drug prosecutor Rossana Isabel Coronel, SENAD agents from the Bella Vista Norte
regional office entered the forest reserve on estancia Timburi in Amambay with drone mapping to
locate large marijuana plots, Última Hora and Radio Amambay reported on 30 October 2026.[1][2]
The teams eradicated four hectares of illegal cultivation and found a staging area with 660 kg of
marijuana in 33 bags ready for pressing, both outlets said.[1][2]SENAD described the
operation as keeping about twelve tonnes of marijuana out of circulation; the releases did not
break down how that total was calculated beyond the eradicated fields and seized bales.[1][2]
Coronel monitored live imagery during the destruction, according to the reports.[1][2]
The twelve-tonne figure is an agency estimate of total cannabis kept from circulation, including standing crops, not a separately weighed total in the press releases opened here.
Última Hora and Radio Amambay published on 30 October 2026 without stating the calendar day the raid ended.
No arrests were reported in these accounts.
