On Wednesday 28 October 2026 officers of the Amambay departmental anti-drug unit searched the
rural property Estancia Pica Pau, in the colony of Cerro Kuatiá, Capitán Bado.[1] They cut and
burned two hectares of cannabis that was at harvest.[1] In the same part of the property they
found about 2,000 kilograms drying and stored, and burned that as well, with a rough camp and the
gear used to run the crop.[1]
The work was done under SUMAR, the action plan against drug abuse, and was overseen by the
Amambay specialised anti-drug prosecution.[1] Amambay Urgente described the same search, the two
hectares, the 2,000 kilograms and the burned camp, and said what was done was turned over to the
courts.[2] Neither account named an arrest.[1][2]
