Alanya anti-narcotics police carried out simultaneous early-morning operations in two separate neighbourhoods as part of an anti-drug effort.[1] Officers detained two suspects, 60-year-old İsmail K. and 54-year-old Hakan K.[1] After processing at the police station, both suspects were referred to the courthouse, where the court sent one to prison and released the other under judicial control.[1]

The first search targeted a residence in Saray Mahallesi, where officers detained İsmail K. in a morning raid.[1] That search recovered 158 grams of methamphetamine in five pieces, along with one precision scale, 103,285 Turkish lira, 1,325 euros and 488 US dollars.[1] The second simultaneous search targeted a residence in Şekerhane Mahallesi, where narcotics officers detained Hakan K.[1] That search recovered 16 cannabis plants found grown with a specially installed setup, along with 60 grams of esrar, one precision scale and many materials used to grow cannabis.[1] Officers also seized 16,800 Turkish lira, 220 euros and 10 British pounds at that residence.[1] Drugs, growing equipment and cash from both addresses were seized as part of the investigation.[1]

The operations also yielded precision scales, a cannabis-growing setup and cash in different currencies.[1] Police noted as striking that cannabis had been grown with a special setup in one home.[1]
