Ahmedabad’s Krishnanagar police arrested three men after raids near the Prabuddh Ashram canal crossroads and at the Krishna Elegance residential complex in the Nava Naroda area.[1] The men were identified as Sandeepkumar Verma, Pradeep Anandsinh Rajput and Bunty Rameshchandra Mirchandani.[1][2] Officers had kept watch near the Prabuddh Ashram canal crossroads and apprehended Sandeepkumar Dayarambhai Verma after receiving information that hybrid ganja was allegedly being sold in Nava Naroda.[1][2] During questioning, Verma allegedly said he had obtained the substance from his friend Pradeep Anandsinh Rajput.[1][2] Following that disclosure, police raided Rajput’s B-101 residence at Krishna Elegance and allegedly recovered another quantity of hybrid ganja.[1] Rajput’s associate Bunty Rameshchandra Mirchandani was then identified as another person linked to the supply chain.[1]

Police seized 54.180 grams of hybrid ganja, three mobile phones and a digital pocket weighing scale.[1][2] Police put the total value of all the seized items at an estimated ₹2.19 lakh.[1] The first search reportedly led to the recovery of small packets containing hybrid ganja.[1][2]

Preliminary investigation indicates Bunty had brought the ganja from Udaipur around 10 to 15 days earlier.[1][2] Police said Bunty had been consuming the substance for approximately seven months and, although he had initially brought the stock for personal use, he allegedly packaged surplus ganja into small sachets and arranged to sell them through friends.[1] Preliminary investigation indicates none of the three arrested men has a prior criminal record.[1] Police are continuing work to identify the Udaipur supplier and are examining the accused’s call detail records to establish whether earlier consignments were brought to Ahmedabad and to identify local contacts who may have received the sachets.[1][2]

ACP R. D. Oza said the Krishnanagar D-staff team acted on a tip-off about a man coming with ganja near the canal.[2]
