At 8:00 in the morning of 29 October 2026, uniformed officers of the Seccional de Tránsito y Transporte, the Traffic and Transport Section, found and seized marijuana in Yarumal during prevention, control and registration checks on people and vehicles.[1] The officers were carrying out routine roadside prevention and control work, checking people and vehicles moving through the Yarumal area.[1] The marijuana was being moved as an encomienda, a parcel consignment, inside a public-service bus.[1] That bus was covering the scheduled route between Medellín and Caucasia.[1]

Officers reported the seizure as 4,898 grams of marijuana, about 4.898 kilograms.[1] Police estimated the value of that marijuana at three million Colombian pesos.[1] Officers then placed the seized substance at the disposal of the Fiscalía Seccional de Yarumal, the sectional prosecutor’s office in Yarumal, for the corresponding judicial proceedings.[1] The officers recorded the case as a find and seizure.[1]
